The eye of him that hath seen me

died July 27th 1886
He suffered much but murmur'd not
We watched him day by day
With aching hearts, until at last
He quietly passed away

A fair example of good life:
She was a tender mother and a loving wife;
Her house did shew her prudent care,
Mourn not she'd gone where tears do cease;
Her upright life did end in peace.

Ann Barratt dictated a poem to the Curate, Mr Mitchell in 1862.  To see the poem and its transcription, click here.  Mr Mitchell described her in 1862 as an old woman ... but she lived for another 20 years.
